Question? Sir, do you have answers for Matthew 13:44-50?
Answer:
The parables in Matthew are probably the MOST DIFFICULT to interpret and MOST COMMENTARIES have them wrong and REALLY CONFUSE rather than be of any help.
Lets examine these verses…
– V44:
Matthew 13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
– The word TREASURE is referring to the Nation of Israel.
Consider Psalms 135:4 and Exodus 19:5,6…
Psalms 135:4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
Exodus 19:5-6 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: (6) And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
– HID IN A FIELD refers to the time when the SURVIVING Jews HIDE THEMSELVES in the City KNOWN as Petra. The Anti Christ at the middle of the Seven year Tribulation Period (3 – 1/2 years) seeks out and kills Two Thirds (2/3rds) of every living Jew at that time and One Third (1/3rd) of them will survive his attacks against them and hide themseves in Petra.
Consider the following verses…
Zechariah 13:8-9 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts (2/3rds) therein shall be cut off and die (of ALL living Jews) (; but the third (1/3rd) shall be left therein. (9) And I will bring the third part (1/3rd of the remaing alive) through the fire (attacks of the antichrist), and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
Daniel 9:27 And he (Anti Christ) shall confirm the covenant with many (The Nation Of Israel) for one week (7 years): and in the midst (3-1/2 years) of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation (the Temple sacrifices) to cease (stop), and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation (the Anti Christ declare himself to be God ), spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (the Temple), whoso readeth, let him understand.
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
– Selleth all that he hath, and buyeth the field – simply means Christ Died and shed his blood on the cross (= selleth all that he hath) to pay for the sins of all the Jews (= buyeth the field).

– V45 & 46:
Matthew 13:45-46 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: (46) Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
– The Merchant man: This is Jesus Christ.
– Goodly Pearls & The one pearl of great price: is the Gentile or the non Jew.
– Went and sold all that he had: Christ Died and shed his blood on the cross.
– and bought it: Paid for the sins of all Gentiles – (you and me).
consider 2 Corinthians 8:9…
2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
The Lord Jesus LEFT the ALL riches of his heavenly kingdom to become the step child of a carpenter (= poor) who was born in a stable (= poverty) so that simple belief (trust in alone) in his Death Burial and Resurrection every person who does would GAIN Everlasting Life (= rich).
Ephesians 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.

– V47-50:
Matthew 13:47-50 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: (48) Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. (49) So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, (50) And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
V47:
– Unto a Net: The Gospel
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
– cast into the Sea: The Unsaved
Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
– Gathered of every kind: Shared the Gospel to all.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

– V48:
– The good into vessels: Those that believed.
– But cast the bad away: Those that DID NOT believe, Cast into the Lake of Fire.
2 Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
– OBEY NOT: Means to BELIEVE NOT

– V49:
– So shall it be at the end of the world: the word WORLD “Should” be translated as “AGE”, this refers to at the end of the Seven Year Tribulation Period.
– The angels shall come forth: At the Judgement of the Nations to SEPARATE the Saved (sheep) from the Unsaved (goats).
Matthew 25:31-32 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: (32) And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.
– And sever the wicked from among the just: The wicked are the Unsaved that BELIEVED NOT on Christ for salvation and are SEPERATED as the above verses state.

– V50:
– Shall cast them into the furnace of fire: The Unsaved were SENTENCED (cast) to the Furnace of Fire WHICH IS the LAKE OF FIRE.
Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
– there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth: SELF EXPLANITORY.
2 Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins. The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
