Question? In Biblical terms what does Virtuous mean in Proverbs 31:10?
Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Answer:
Virtuous by definition means…
Upstanding, Honest, Ethical, Moral, Principled, Reputable, and Exemplary among MANY other NOTE WORTHY synonyms.
V10 describes this kind of woman as PRICELESS (Far above Rubies) BEYOND the reaches of any amount of money could ever attain.
The word Virtuous could also be described as Desirable.
Sadly MOST MEN only consider a woman desirable IF SHE is physically attractive and one that IS WILLING to satisfy their sexual needs.
A DESIRABLE women in the Biblical sense is one that IS PURE…
– Spiritually (Born Again – Having Trusted Alone In Christ as her Saviour).
– In Reputation.
– In Character.
– Morally.
– In Attitude, and Behavior.
The MISTAKE that alot of women make, is BY VISITING the Bars or Night Clubs, and then they Wonder Why??? they find Mr. Wrong. As the old saying says “They are LOOKING for love in all of the wrong places”. Sir or Ma’am If you want to meet Mrs or Mr Right you have to go to the Right Places (Like a Good Bible Teaching Church or Bible Study) not in Satan’s Dens (Like Bars, etc…).
In Conclusion:
Proverbs 31:10 – 12 has A LOT to say about the traits or Virtue of a GOOD WOMEN.
V11 states… The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
As stated this woman’s husband has NO NEED of worry (safely trust in her) for she is Trustworthy.
And further more because of her Trustworthiness, Honesty, and Truthfulness her husband is FULLY SATISFIED and has NO NEED to go looking for someone else (Have no need of Spoil).
V12 states… She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
In other words… Her one and ONLY DESIRE is to make her husband happy in ALL WAYS and that is her LIFE’S GOAL.
MEN if you have a GOOD WIFE then treat her as the MOST PRECIOUS GIFT (That She Is) that God has BLESSED YOU with, for they are VERY RARE now days and Thank God everyday for her.
She is your Help Mate NOT YOUR Punching bag, Complaint Box, or a Bank Deposit.
Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Love Her, Care for Her, and be THE MAN that she can look up to, The one THAT SHE feels safe with, And the one THAT SHE can depend on.
Women have only Three Basic Needs that they want from a man, Which are…
Love, Respect, and Your Attention Do all Three and men your Wife, or Girlfriend WILL GO to the ends of the earth for you and WILLINGLY FOLLOW your lead and THEIR LOVE for you will be stronger than the strongest Iron chains.
Remember, Women are like flowers, If you Nurture them properly WITH Respect, Love, and Attention they WILL GROW (in love and desire for you) and MOST NOTABLY will have Deep Respect for you as HER MAN and husband . BUT if you don’t then they WILL WILT and die Emotionally, Mentally, and possibly Physically ( From a Broken Heart or by Taking their Life – I know of a case where this happened, VERY TRAGIC).
1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
And women, if you have a GOOD HUSBAND, or Boy Friend then do the same likewise.
Ephesians 5:22-24 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. (23) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. (24) Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
