Question 437

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? I am going to Bible College but my family is mad what do I do?

Answer:

First thing I want to Congratulate you FOR CHOOSING to go to Bible College that is a WORTHY ENDEAVOR.

Jude 3 tells us to CONTEND for the Faith.

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Second thing YOU must remember the Lord CALLED YOU to go to Bible College NOT THEM, it does makes sense from a humanistic reasoning that your family is mad they are thinking that you could earn a degree that would benefit you financially and possibly socially as well but you on the other hand are looking at it from a spiritual outlook.

Romans 11:29 states…

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Since the Lord CALLED YOU into the ministry that is where he wants you to be so that he can BEST USE YOU and he NEVER “Changes his Mind” (Without Repentance) about that.

I can also tell you that if you cave into pressure from family, or friends to seek a different direction in life the scriptures also state in 1 Corinthians 9:16 that there will be consequences.

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

NOTE: The word WOE means Judgement.

In all reality you WILL bring Heartache and Misery (Woe) into your life if you CHOOSE NOT to do what the Lord has called you to do and this applies to ALL CHRISTIANS in all walks of life.

In Conclusion:

Obey the Lord and eventually your family and friends will see that you mean business if not go on in life in serving the Lord for it is better to “Please the Lord” than it is to please people.

Galatians 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
