Question 471

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? I don’t understand Hosea 6:2 what is it speaking about?

Hosea 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Answer:

Hosea is speaking of the Nation of Israel because the plea in v1 is…

Hosea 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

The Nation of Israel has ALWAYS been the “Apple of his Eye”.

Zechariah 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

When the Lord Jesus (God) came to this world he INTENDED to use Israel as his loudspeaker to proclaim the Gospel and the Word of God, BUT they as a nation as a whole REJECTED him as their Messiah (Saviour) and crucified him.

John 1:11 He ( Jesus Christ) came unto his own (Israel), and his own received him not.

If you were to read Chapters 36, 37 and 38 etc. of the Book of Ezekiel these are all prophecies CONCERNING the Nation Israel, Chapter 37: 1-15 in particular SPEAKS of Israel becoming a Nation again which it did on May 14, 1948.

NOTE: All those that teach Replacement Theology (also known as Preterism) such as Hank Hanegraaff, R.C. Sproul, the Roman Catholic, Lutheran, and Methodist churches just to name a few take ALL THE PROMISIES given to the Nation of Israel and apply them to the Church but it is intresting that they NEVER apply any of the curses to the church, hmmmmmm? gee, I wonder why???

Back to the question, The word DAY in Hosea 6:2 is speaking of a “Period of Time” not a literal Twenty Four hour day, Therefore what V2 is saying that AFTER Two thousand years the Nation of Israel WILL BE regathered as a nation again and in the One thousand year reign of Christ here on earth (Third day) Israel WILL once again as a whole serve her blessed redeemer.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
