Question 510

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? I know of a person that says they are a christian but they have no desire to share the Gospel with others, what do you think?

Answer:

Without being able to talk to the individual myself and finding out for sure I believe there are Five possible reasons WHY as you stated, that this person that you know of WILL NOT share the Gospel.

THE REASONS:

#1 – They are AFRAID of making a mistake, or not knowing what to say.

#2 – They are ASHAME of the Gospel, and not wanting others to know that they are a christian.

#3 – They are OUT of the will of the Lord.

#4 – They are CALVINISTIC in doctrine (the belief that certain people ARE chosen to go to heaven and others to hell therefore NO NEED to witness).

#5 – They are NOT SAVED.

NOTE: There might be other reasons, but, these are usually the main ones.

Proverbs 29:25 states that the FEAR OF MAN bringth a snare (trap).

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

Satan works REALLY HARD to keep a christian from sharing the gospel by…

– Ruining the christians testimony so that no one will listen.

– Fill up the christian’s free time with other things so they CANNOT study or read God’s Word in order to have confidence in what they are saying.

Then of course there is the possibility as I had said that the person is either NOT SAVED or is a Calvinist and as far as they are concerned there is NO desire or NO need in their mind to share the gospel.

In Conclusion:

My BEST ADVICE would be to STRESS to them “HOW IMPORTANT” it is to share the Gospel to others and I would use the example below…

If you knew where a person could get a cure to ANY disease wouldn’t you want to let them know where they could get it.

Of course the answer is yes and most people would.

So the reasoning would be, “If you know for sure how to go to heaven then why wouldn’t you want others to know how to go there as well”.

That would be MY APPROACH and answer…

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
