Question? Could you explain what Jesus meant in John 12:24 please?
John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
Answer:
The word MUCH FRUIT is in reference to GAINING SOULS for Christ.
In Verse 23 Jesus spoke of his crucifixion and death on the cross.
And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified (crucified).
THROUGH his Death, Burial and Resurrection he guaranteed the resurrection to all who have died with their trust in him.
1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (6) Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1 Corinthians 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
The same principle in John 12:24 applies to the christian as well.
If the christian DIES to self and should give of his or her life for Christ and the Gospel’s sake, They shall bringeth forth much fruit (blessings, rewards, & other people lead to Christ) TO BE ENJOYED among many other things which God has for them, BUT, if not, then they shall “abideth alone” as far as having the LOSS OF blessings in this life & rewards at the Judgement Seat of Christ, and the SADDEST PART no souls won for Christ.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
