Question? What Peace and Holiness must I have according to Hebrews 12:14 to see the Lord?
Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.
The answer you seek is WITHIN the verse itself, No person will be allowed in the “Presence of the Lord” WITHOUT holiness, or in other words BEING DECLARED RIGHTEOUS in God’s sight.
NOTE: See my Q & A #466
The words FOLLOW PEACE means to “Trust Christ and his payment alone for your sins”.
Let’s Consider Romans 5:1…
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
The ONLY WAY to have The Assurance of going to heaven, which is the REAL INTENT of the words “Follow Peace” in Hebrews 12:14, and to be “Declared Righteous” or Justified – Romans 5:1 IS BY… Believing, (Trust alone) that Jesus Christ went to the cross to Die, Shed his blood, was Buried, and Three days later Resurrected from the dead as the “Complete Payment” alone for your sins.
The word HOLINESS really means Pure and Holy. Consider Hebrews 10:10 which states…
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
The word SANCTIFIED means “Made Pure and Holy”.
Every person at the very moment of belief is Made Pure and Holy, in other words DECLARED RIGHTEOUS (sanctified) in God’s sight.
Simply put, Hebrews 12:14 is saying that… WITHOUT having Christ Righteousness, which ONLY comes by Trusting Christ and his payment alone for your sins, YOU CANNOT and you WILL NOT be allowed enter heaven.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.
The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
