Question?… In Colossians 4:15 was Nymphas a Man or Woman. The KJV says he, whereas other versions say her, which is correct?
Answer…
The one thing that most people are not aware of is that ALL NEW BIBLE VERSIONS are derived and based upon the Greek New Testament that Brooke Foss Westcott & fenton J.A. Hort wrote.
Brooke Foss Westcott was a worshipper of the Virgin Mary, a lover of ritualistic church services. He did not believe in the vicarious sacrifice of Christ.
Fenton J.A. Hort called Christ’s substitutionary atonement “immoral.” He also concurred with Charles Darwin’s false evolutionary theory.
Hort denied a literal Eden and a real Fall of man. He wrote: I am inclined to think that no such state as “Eden” ever existed, and that Adam’s fall in no degree differed from the fall of each of his descendant.
Westcott and Hort believed the King James Bible was an inferior translation.
Both rejected the atonement of the substitution of Christ for the sinner, or vicarious atonement; both denied that the death of Christ counted for anything as an atoning factor.
Westcott and Hort were also into SPIRITUALISM which was popular during their life time, both were involved in a club which was started by Edward White Benson, a future Archbishop of Canterbury known as the Ghostlie Guild in where its members investigated paranormal phenomena in other words supernatural encounters.
With that said… To answer the question… The original Greek in Colossians 4:15, shows that Nymphas is marked as “N-ASM”, and that it means it is a “Noun — Accusative Singular Masculine”. So Nymphas was a male, according to the manuscripts (Textus Receptus) that the KVJ was translated from.
In Conclusion:
Both Westcott and Hort DENIED many doctrines in the bible, Therefore they set out to REWRITE the Greek New Testament and change whatever they DID NOT believe or agree with.
A individual has to decide if they are going to accept the corrupted SO CALLED versions of the bible such as the NIV, NASB, NKJV, NLT, THE LIVING BIBLE etc. just to name a few that are translated from the Greek New Testament that Brooke Foss Westcott & Fenton J.A. Hort RE-WROTE or accept the KJV which was translated from the ORIGNIAL Hebrew and Greek Language and Manuscripts, which have been proven to be faithful and true WITHOUT alterations.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as YOUR savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins – See 1 Cor. 15:1-4.
