Question… Does God give us the licence to sin?
Answer:
The answer to that question is both a Yes and a No. Let me explain…
– YES: A christian has the freedom (licence) to do XYZ but the Apostle Paul stated in…
1 Corinthians 10:23… All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
What Paul was trying to get across was that YES you can do THIS, THAT, and the OTHER THING but it may not be to your benefit ( all things are not expedient ) and it could POSSIBLY be just not a very good and smart thing to do ( all things edify not ).
The Apostle Paul knew the struggles between the Flesh (Our Sin Nature that we are born with) and the New Nature (the Holy Spirit which a person gets upon trusting the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ ALONE as the complete payment for sin).
Romans 7:15… For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Also in Galatians Chaper 5, in Verse 17 Paul DECLARED by inspiration…
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
– NO: Scripture states in Galatians 6:7…
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
If a christian CHOOSES TO abuse the liberty that they have IN CHRIST, there is a FAIR WARNING that whatever is being done ESPECIALLY if it is walking rather dangerously on the permissive will of God, it does come with POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES.
In Conclusion:
It is best to NOT ROCK THE BOAT so to speak.
Jesus said in Luke 4:12…
And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Just doing something BECAUSE thinking you can may just be TEMPTING God to bring judgement in the christian’s life as in… withholding blessings, rewards, and answers to prayer ect. A WORST CASE SCENARIO would be to cause a weaker christian (FAITH WISE) to stumble, OR the death of the christian commiting the questionable sin, and that would be… SHAME, SHAME, SHAME, or the VERY LEAST a guilty conscience. As the old saying goes Guilt is the gift that keeps on giving.
Romans 14:13… Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as YOUR savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins – 1 Cor. 15:1-4.
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved – Acts 16:31
The moment that you do, YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.
John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8
-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24
– Christ AROSE as proof that God accepted Christ payment for your sins – 1 John 2:2, Matthew 28:6, 1 Peter 3:18
–BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9
“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans.6:23
IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
