Question? Are we to seek the anoiting of the Holy Spirit?

No,

This is a Pentecostal / Charismatic Teaching.

They CLAIM in order to considered a (in their words) SPIRITUAL christian you must receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

This is FALSE TEACHING, 1 John 2:27 says:

(1 John 2:27) But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The word Anointing means INDWELLING

Every born again person HAS been anointed or in other words(indwelled) by the Holy Spirit.

How does a person RECEIVE the indwelling of the Holy Spirit? By TRUSTING the Lord Jesus Christ as saviour.

(John 1:12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

The word RECEIVE means to TRUST, BELIEVE or have FAITH ALONE IN

Scripture is CRYSTAL CLEAR that we receive the Holy Spirit ONCE the moment we TRUST Christ ALONE for salvation.

(Ephesians 1:13) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

In Conclusion:

No where in scripture are we told that there is more that ONE indwelling of the Holy Spirit, there are NOT multiple anoitings as the Pentecostals / Charismatics TRY to claim.

1 Corinthians 12:13 says:

(1 Corinthians 12:13) For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

–BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
