Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Answer:

The word MORTIFY in the Greek is THANATOO which means “PUT TO DEATH”

The simple understanding of Romans 8:13 is this…

If a christian lives for the world and the desires of the flesh and NOT FOR the Lord, God WILL TAKE (put to death) if he deems necessary that christian home to heaven early.

But if that christian OBEYS God’s Word, and Will then God will allow that christian to live.
