Question 561

By: Robert Serreyn

Question? Did God REALLY create evil as Isaiah 45:7 says?

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Answer: NO!!! absolutely not.

The word EVIL is the Hebrew word RAAH or RA and it means ADVERSITY, SORROW, or CALAMITIES.

God CAN and does bring Adversity, Sorrow or Calamities INTO the life of the Believer or the unsaved person alike.

Into the believers life to Test them before he blesses them – Prime example is Job in the book of Job, OR for correction if they are in disobedience to his will and word –

Job 1:8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

1 Corinthians 11:30-32 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. (31) For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. (32) But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

Hebrews 12:5-6 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son (child), despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: (6) For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Into the unsaved person’s life to get them to realize their need for Christ and trust him as their saviour.

Acts 9:1-5 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, (2) And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. (3) And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: (4) And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? (5) And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Only God knows the real reason why he allows certain things to happen, God declares…

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

In Conclusion:

God CANNOT sin, he even turned his back on the Lord Jesus when he was on the cross taking our place, paying for our sins, therefore God cannot and does not create evil.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins.

The moment that you do YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

-BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
