QUESTION 672

QUESTION… In Ezekiel Chp. 2, WHO is being referenced here Jesus or Ezekiel?

ANSWER:

The bible will sometimes use double meanings, A GOOD EXAMPLE is found in Ezekiel Chp. 28. Verses 12-16 which says…

(12) Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. (13) Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. (14) Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. (15) Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. (16) By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

although verse 12 speaks of King Tyrus Verse 14 tells us WHO really is being spoken of and that one is Satan the anointed cherub.

To further establish my belief take a look at verses 1 through 10 in Ezkeiel Chp. 2 and then if you go to the book of John in Chp. 1 in Verse 11 which says… He came unto his own, and his own received him not. and if you compare Ezekiel 2: 1 – 10 with John 1:11 you can see what I mean.

The Nation of Israel as a whole REJECTED the Lord Jesus as their Messiah (saviour) and the religious leaders WERE rebellious against Christ and WEAPONIZED (if I can use that term) the common person to stay in power.

In Conclusion:

I believe both the Lord Jesus AND Ezekiel are being referenced here BECAUSE of the term “Son Of Man”.

But for the record the prophet Ezekiel is called “son of man” over 90 times, God probably chose this manner of direct address to point up the contrast between the human condition of Ezekiel and the transcendent majesty of God.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to know IS Jesus Christ as YOUR savior, just simply believe that Jesus Christ went to the cross and DIED and shed his blood, was BURIED and three days later RESURRECTED from the dead to pay for your sins – See 1 Cor. 15:1-4.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved – Acts 16:31

The moment that you do, YOU HAVE (at that second and forever) Everlasting Life which WILL NEVER be taken away no matter what.

John 10:28-29 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (29) My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

-Christ DIED for you – Romans 5:8

-Christ PAID your sins in full – 2 Corinthians 5:21,1 Peter 2:24

– Christ AROSE as proof that God accepted Christ payment for your sins – 1 John 2:2, Matthew 28:6, 1 Peter 3:18

BELIEVE (Trust In Completely) in Christ ALONE as the complete payment of sin for salvation – John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8,9

“For the wages(payment) of sin is death (eternal torment in hell); but the GIFT(salvation) of God is eternal life THROUGH Jesus Christ our Lord”. Rom.6:23

IT IS THAT SIMPLE – THE GOSPEL TRUTH
